Scapade's mission is to bring everyone the inspiration to create meaningful travel experiences. If you’re honest, kind and respectful to others, you’ll always be welcome here. Everyone is held to the same standard on Scapade. We’re asking you to be considerate, think before you act, and abide by our community guidelines both on and offline.

 

These guidelines are our acceptable use policy, so if you find content that shouldn’t be on Scapade, please report it to us. We use your reports to learn and evolve our standards, and work with subject matter experts to inform and update our guidelines.​​ ​

Our Mission

Scapade is a mobile social app designed to bring travelers and locals together based on shared interests and location, while promoting cultural sustainability. Our mission is to foster meaningful connections, encourage cultural exchange, and support responsible travel practices.

User Conduct

By using the Scapade app, all users agree to adhere to the following guidelines:

1. Respect Cultural Diversity

  1. Embrace and celebrate cultural differences.

  2. Be open-minded and willing to learn about other cultures.

  3. Avoid stereotyping or making assumptions based on cultural backgrounds.

2. Promote Sustainable Travel

  1. Share culturally sustainable travel tips and practices.

  2. Support local businesses and communities.

  3. Encourage responsible tourism that minimizes negative impacts on destinations.

3. Ensure Safety and Security

  1. Meet in public places for initial in-person meetings.

  2. Report any suspicious or inappropriate behavior through the app.

  3. Respect personal boundaries and privacy of other users.

4. Foster Genuine Connections

  1. Be honest about your interests and intentions.

  2. Engage in meaningful conversations and share travel experiences.

  3. Respect others' time and commitments.

5. Maintain a Positive Environment

  1. Be courteous and respectful in all interactions.

  2. Avoid hate speech, discrimination, or harassment of any kind.

  3. Contribute to a welcoming atmosphere for all users.

6. Share Knowledge Responsibly

  1. Provide accurate and helpful information about destinations.

  2. Respect local customs and laws when sharing advice.

  3. Give credit when sharing others' content or ideas.

7. Protect the App Community

  1. Do not use the app for commercial purposes without permission.

  2. Refrain from spamming or excessive self-promotion.

  3. Report any misuse of the app or violations of this code of conduct.

Safety Guidelines

Scapade prioritizes user safety but cannot guarantee it. Users are responsible for their own safety and well-being when meeting in person. We strongly recommend following these safety guidelines:

Online Safety

  1. Never send money or share financial information with other users.

  2. Protect your personal information, including details about your daily routine or family.

  3. Keep conversations on the Scapade platform until you're comfortable and have vetted the other person.

  4. Be wary of long-distance relationships and users who avoid meeting in person or video calling.

  5. Report all suspicious and offensive behavior immediately.

  6. Be cautious when logging in from public computers.

Meeting in Person

  1. Take your time getting to know the other person before meeting.

  2. Meet in public places and stay in public for the first few meetings.

  3. Tell friends or family about your plans, including when and where you're meeting.

  4. Be in control of your own transportation.

  5. Know your limits with alcohol and drugs, and don't leave drinks unattended.

  6. Trust your instincts - if you feel uncomfortable, it's okay to leave.

LGBTQ+ Travel Safety

  1. Research local laws and attitudes towards LGBTQ+ individuals when traveling.

  2. Exercise extra caution in countries with anti-LGBTQ+ laws.

  3. Be aware that some law enforcement agencies may use dating apps for entrapment.

  4. Consider avoiding app use in unsafe territories.

Reporting Violations

If you encounter any behavior that violates this code of conduct, please report it immediately through the app's reporting feature. Our team will investigate and take appropriate action.

Scapade reserves the right to investigate and/or terminate your account without a refund of any purchases if you have misused the Service or behaved in a way that Scapade regards as inappropriate, unlawful, or in violation of the Terms of Use, including actions or communications that occur off the Service but involve users you meet through the Service.

Consequences of Violations

Users who violate this code of conduct may face consequences including:

  1. Warnings

  2. Temporary suspension of account

  3. Permanent ban from the app

Scapade reserves the right to make final decisions regarding user conduct and app usage.

If you experience a negative incident, remember it's not your fault. In addition to reporting to Scapade, consider reaching out to local support services or law enforcement if you feel in danger.

By using Scapade, you agree to abide by this code of conduct and contribute to creating a positive, culturally sustainable, and safe travel community.
